About Abi
Hi, I’m Abi, a Registered Psychotherapist and the founder of Paddle Wellness.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 20 years in education and special education, including working closely with youth and families navigating complex challenges. That experience deeply shaped how I understand people, not just what they are going through, but what might be underneath it.
In my work now, I bring that same curiosity, compassion, and respect for each person’s story into the therapy room.
It is not always easy to reach out, and I aim to make that first step feel as comfortable as possible.
How I Work
I take a trauma-informed, relational approach to therapy.
That means we won’t just focus on what’s happening on the surface but we’ll gently explore the patterns, experiences, and protective parts of you that have developed over time.
My goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to slow down, reflect, and begin to understand yourself in a different way, without judgment or pressure.
Our work isn’t about applying a single method, but drawing from therapeutic approaches that best support you.
Tools and Approaches I Draw From
Depending on your needs, I may integrate different approaches into our work together, including:
• Understanding how your nervous system responds to stress
• Exploring different parts of yourself and how they show up
• Building self-compassion and emotional awareness
• Making sense of how past experiences shape current patterns
This isn’t one-size-fits-all. Therapy is tailored to you.
You Don’t Have to Figure This Out Alone
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself, you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
Therapy can be a place to slow things down, make sense of what you have been holding, and begin to move forward in a way that feels more steady and aligned.
If that sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d be glad to connect.
